Bathroom tiles

Most bathrooms have tiles somewhere, either as a splash protector behind the sink or covering a whole wall by the shower or bath.  Bathroom tiles are also used to cover the floor.

There is more to the humble bath tile than a square white ceramic tile, to protect the surfaces from water.  Bathroom tiles now come in all shapes from mosaic to A3 size and in a range of materials.  These include ceramic, glass, plastic, metal, stone, rubber, wood and bamboo.

Wall tiles will differ from floor tiles, mostly in their safety requirements.  White shiny ceramic tiles look clean and shiny on the wall but are a slippery death trap on the floor.  For detailed information on bathroom tiles for flooring have a look at the bathroom flooring section.  If you want to get some creative inspiration for wall tiles or how to combine the two take a look at out bathroom tile design guide.
